Maine professors honored for promoting public service

AUGUSTA — A faculty member at the University of Southern Maine is one of three professors who were honored Wednesday by the Maine Campus Compact for their efforts to promote public service through higher education. Lorrayne Carroll of Portland, a professor of English and gender studies at USM, received the Donald Harward Award for Faculty Service-Learning Excellence in a ceremony at the Maine State Museum.
