Eduardo Ochoa, assistant secretary for Postsecondary Education, will deliver the morning keynote address at the Annual Massachusetts Campus Compact of College and University Presidents in Waltham, Mass., on Tuesday, June 12. Ochoa will discuss the importance of higher education civic engagement programs during a session titled "Civic Engagement and the PreK-Postsecondary Education Pipeline." His remarks will be followed by a Q&A session.
The event is being hosted by the Massachusetts Campus Compact (MACC), a nonprofit coalition of 70 college and university presidents committed to developing the civic skills of students, building partnerships with the community, and integrating civic engagement with teaching and research. The annual gathering is part of a statewide network of college and university presidents in the MACC network. As part of its yearlong focus on the pre-k through postsecondary education pipeline, MACC is highlighting member initiatives that use civic engagement to increase college access and student success.
