The CCAC Corps Leader for Energy Efficiency will be part of a team of four Corps Leaders and four staff members supporting the personal and professional development of Campus Compact's cohort of AmeriCorps members. They will be supervised by a CCAC Program Coordinator and will provide support for the program area of Energy Efficiency, building the capacity of CCAC to increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and increase cost savings for underserved communities. They will assist in the creation and provision of related member training, technical assistance, and support to the national CCAC cohort. The Corps Leader will maintain regular communication with members. Along with building out annual training and member support programming, Corps Leaders also review data collection processes, and research and develop resource materials for CCAC host sites and members.
Essential Functions:
Neer Peer Support:
- Assist in the creation and provision of member training, technical assistance, resource development, and support to the national CCAC cohort, for the program areas of energy efficiency
- Conduct monthly check-ins with host site teams and maintain a communications log
- Maintain regular communication with members, and elevate host site concerns to program staff
Data Support:
- Review data collection processes and track members’ progress on hitting benchmarks related to energy efficiency program activities
- Provide ongoing support to members in completing data reporting requirements
Resource Development:
- Research and produce resource materials for CCAC host sites and members, including energy efficiency manuals that focus on home energy assistance programs for all service states
- Develop and implement training to coach AmeriCorps members on home energy efficiency issues, strategies, and interventions
- Collaborate with communications team members to create and share educational content on Campus Compact social media accounts
Evaluation & Reporting Requirements:
- Complete and submit accurate and timely biweekly timesheets and monthly data reports
- Develop a Sustainability Guide that ensures the long-term viability of projects
- Member performance will be assessed through a mid-term evaluation and end-of-term evaluation
Training Requirements:
- Attend a week-long virtual orientation at the beginning of the service term
- Attend 3-day Early Service Training (tentatively in-person)
- Engage in ongoing training sessions
- Attend weekly virtual All Corps Meetings
- Participate in Life After AmeriCorps training workshops and career action planning activities in June
- Participate in an AmeriCorps Day of Service

The Member may be required to perform other position-related instructions within the scope of their normal service activities as requested by their site supervisor and/or AmeriCorps program staff in alignment with the grant and not unallowable or prohibited activities.
Service Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident
- Must pass a National Service Criminal History Check
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to a host site area
- Valid driver’s license and car, and/or dependable transportation
- Personal commitment to climate action and environmental stewardship
- Motivated team leader with exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and comfortable with public speaking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience engaging community partners and/or college students
- Experience in environmental stewardship and energy efficiency
- Experience with training or mentoring
AmeriCorps Disaster Requirements: In the event of a local, state, or federal disaster declaration, AmeriCorps Members may be asked on a volunteer basis or be required by AmeriCorps to activate to assist in disaster response and recovery activities within their communities. This may involve virtual service opportunities or in-person service opportunities. This may include service opportunities outside of the Member’s standard service hours or in place of their standard service duties. In the event of a large-scale, high needs local, state, or federal disaster, AmeriCorps Members may voluntarily or be required by AmeriCorps to deploy to an area outside of their service area to assist in disaster response and recovery activities.
Term of Service: The Full-Time AmeriCorps member must complete at least 1,700 hours during the service term, which will run from August 26, 2024 through July 31, 2025.
Operating Site: Campus Compact Boston or Chicago office, with teleservice possible.
Benefits:
CCAC Corps Leaders receive AmeriCorps benefits, including a living stipend and Segal Education Award. As a Full-Time AmeriCorps member, the Corps Leader will receive:
- A living allowance of $23,800 total for the service term. It will be distributed evenly in bi-monthly installments via direct deposit and is taxable income.
- A $7,395.50 Segal Education Award. This award is contingent upon the successful completion of the program, is good for 7 years, and can be used to pay for college or technical school or to pay back qualified public student loans.
- Childcare assistance for qualifying members
- Student loan forbearance and interest payments for qualifying members
