Cooper Beck, a first-year student at Bellarmine University, embodies a commitment to civic engagement, advocacy, and education. His upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for community engagement and grassroots efforts to address social issues. In his senior year of high school, Cooper founded the Community Alliance Program, providing LGBTQIA+ awareness training to educators and faculty, showcasing his early leadership. Throughout college, he's demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, actively participating in various student organizations and initiatives driving positive change. Cooper's interest in addressing healthcare disparities led him to immerse himself in extracurricular activities and community initiatives, with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS awareness. Actively engaged in campus leadership, he collaborates with RSOs, the administration, and student government to create dynamic events fostering dialogue, collaboration, and education. His ability to bring diverse populations together reflects his commitment to developing innovative, collaborative strategies for positive change. Driven by the belief that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social justice, Cooper is dedicated to creating a brighter, more equitable future for all.
Personal Statement
Growing up in Western Kentucky, I've committed myself to advocacy, aware of policy and socioeconomic disparities. Throughout college, at Bellarmine University, I've remained dedicated to addressing pressing social issues and expanding my knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Interested in hosting events that foster dialogue and education, I plan to collaborate with RSOs, the administration, and student government to create dynamic and inclusive movements. This initiative reflects my commitment to addressing the root causes of social issues and developing innovative, collaborative strategies for change. Driven by the belief that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social justice, I aim to create a brighter, more equitable future for all. Participating in programs like the Newman Civic Fellowship reinforces this dedication, reminding me that change is achievable.
