Personal Statement
I am tremendously interested in joining the Newman Civic Fellowship Program. Currently, I am a Junior at Northern Illinois University (NIU), studying Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. During my time at NIU I feel like I have set myself apart from other students with a similar background. After all my co-curricular involvement, I am also a Pharmacy Technician for Walgreens, studying to earn my Pharmacy Technician Certification. Beyond my heavy involvement on and off campus, I have been able to successfully achieve academic excellence throughout my classes, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.3. Being a part of the Newman Civic Fellowship Program, I hope to expand my involvement on campus while giving back to the NIU community. Additionally, I hope to build everlasting bonds within my fellowship and a stronger network. I also hope to grow professionally throughout this program, as it will help my career path after graduation. I know that the Newman Fellowship Program will be beneficial to my education, community advocacy, and professional development. I am committed to giving the utmost dedication to this program and hope that you consider me as a potential Newman Fellow.
