Civic Action Planning provides a blueprint for campuses to follow that intentionally aligns practices with values—ensuring that civic and community engagement is broadly and deeply integrated into institutional action.

Through deeply strategic and collaborative work, colleges and universities develop Civic Action Plans to envision an integrated approach to teaching, scholarship, and institutional policies. Through Civic Action Planning, campuses can build their strategic capacity, goals, and action to pursue the public purpose of higher education and make civic learning and democracy engagement part of all students' degree requirements.
