Strengthening Communities Nationwide: Campus Compact VISTA Expands to Four New States in 2024-2025

Campus Compact VISTA announces the expansion of its program to Texas, Georgia, Nebraska, and Michigan, with 19 new host sites, bringing the total to 45 across 17 states. VISTA members will focus on economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, education, healthy futures, and support for veterans and military families. 161 applications have been received so far for the upcoming year.

Campus Compact VISTA eagerly awaits the start of our 2024-2025 program year as we welcome 19 new VISTA host sites, expanding our program's reach to Texas, Georgia, Nebraska, and Michigan. Come the summer of 2024, you will be able to find a Campus Compact VISTA in 17 states across the country with a total of 45 host sites!

Our VISTA members build capacity or improve the efficiency, effectiveness, or scale of projects that address community-identified needs in the following focus areas: 

Economic OpportunityThe VISTA serving at Michigan State University (MI) will support a transition to circular economies by developing strategies for supporting low-income entrepreneurs.

Environmental Stewardship - The VISTA serving with Stanford-Canopy (CA) will coordinate educational workshops and work collaboratively with low-income communities to expand the impact of Canopy’s work to grow the urban forest.  

Education - The VISTA, serving with the National Museum of the Pacific War (TX), will address educational disparities and cycles of poverty by developing high-quality educational resources for underserved schools.

Healthy Futures - The VISTA serving at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (WI) will focus on developing partnerships with community agencies, providing food assistance and housing, and fostering a culture of community service on campus. 

Veterans and Military Families - The VISTA serving at Worcester State University (MA) will support military-connected students throughout attaining their degrees by developing systems to enhance the engagement of these students with essential, on-campus services.


Since the start of recruitment, we have received 161 applications and had 6 host sites select applicants to serve for 24-25 years.
