Now recruiting college & university host sites for Campus Climate Action Corps

The first nationwide AmeriCorps program solely dedicated to campus-led, community-based climate action.

The Campus Climate Action Corps (CCAC) Project is a Campus Compact initiative focused on building the capacity of campuses and their community partners to affect behavioral and technical change leading to energy efficiency and improved at-risk ecosystems by implementing local solutions for underserved households and communities.

CCAC AmeriCorps Members will host community environmental education events, conduct home energy assessments, including home energy assistance referrals, and implement low-tech home energy interventions to help advance public knowledge and increase motivation to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions.

We are actively recruiting CCAC Campus Host Sites!

We are seeking campuses in the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast to be CCAC AmeriCorps Host Sites when the program launches. Each campus will host a small team of AmeriCorps members to contribute to sustainability efforts on campus and in local communities. This is an incredible opportunity for your campus to begin or deepen community engagement efforts and design community-based solutions to your area’s most pressing environmental issues.

For a moderate programmatic fee, your campus can leverage an energized team of AmeriCorps members and unlock access to a national hub of leaders in community engagement and climate change in higher education.

CCAC is focused on supporting campus/community partnerships that:

  • Raise awareness and address urgent climate issues in underserved communities
  • Lower energy use and energy costs for low-income households
  • Improve at-risk ecosystems in underserved areas
