From the president
Kendall Stokes, a second-year student at Montana State University Billings is a student leader and self-starter. Her work to engage other students in addressing community needs important to them has been exemplary. In her short time, here at MSUB she has already started a major service club from scratch, participated in campus service programs, and engaged with the on-campus community more than any other student I have met. Her passion for her community is clear. She has long been determined to become a schoolteacher for elementary students and has expressed how important education is to her. Part of the reason she is so involved in leading her community is that she wants to set an example for her future students to ensure they grow up with the same drive to follow their passions. Beyond her studies and work as Founder and President of MSUB's Circle K club, she serves on the Montana District Board for Circle K International. In her free time, she is a volunteer assistant swim coach at a local high school. These examples of her service showcase her commitment to community building and education each of which are very effective ways to address any social issue.
Personal Statement
My passion for service started in High School and continued on to college where I founded the MSUB Chapter of Circle K International in the Fall of 2022. I strive to make connections and collaborate with my peers to address important issues together. With my previous and current experiences, I have found that the greater number of people you have helping you, the more you can do for a cause. I have served more than just my local community for years, previously serving on the Montana District Board for Key Club International in High School, and currently serving on the Montana District Board for Circle K International. I keep myself very involved in my community by doing service work through Circle K, volunteering as an Assistant Coach for the Skyview High School Swim Team, and volunteering as a Youth Group leader for St. Bernards Catholic Church. Along with my passion for service, I also have a passion for Education. I am studying Elementary Education because I know I can make a positive difference in students’ lives and give back to my community while doing what I love.
