From the president
Ashley Haley successfully balances her family life and volunteer work in the community while attending classes at Great Falls College MSU. After earning her baccalaureate degree in Political Science from the University of Montana, she continued her studies in the Substance Abuse and Addictions Counseling program at our campus. Ashley will graduate in Spring 2024 and plans to enter a master's program in social work. Ashley is very active in the American Indian community, serving on the Leadership Council, teaching traditional Native American beading at Sober Life in Great Falls, and assisting with the various traditional and cultural events at the "Gathering of Families" International Traditional Games Society celebration last fall. As a proponent of equality and fairness, Ashley strives for more protection for Indigenous women and has demonstrated her support for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women at rallies in town. Ashley encourages American Indian students at Great Falls College to attain their degree and to receive a beaded eagle feather in honor of their accomplishments at a Native-led ceremony prior to commencement. Recently, she shared her account of her treatment and recovery at a forum held at Great Falls College MSU, “Let’s Talk Harm Reduction: Strategies for Addiction Recovery.”
