Campus Compact today announced that Deanna Villanueva-Saucedo, Associate Vice Chancellor for the Center of Excellence in Inclusive Democracy, Maricopa Community Colleges, will serve as one of Campus Compact’s Community Colleges Network Fellows for the 2022-2023 academic year.
As a Community College Network Fellow, Deanna will serve as the facilitator for the Campus Compact Community Colleges Network. In this capacity, she will support members in engaging with the network’s activities, implement strategies to build community amongst members, and bring best practices and resources to the group. Deanna will work alongside members and Compact staff to ensure the network activities are inclusive, equitable, and grounded in members' needs.
“Community colleges are at the heart of communities across the country and play a pivotal role in transforming lives,” said Deanna. “Not only do our community colleges equip students with transfer opportunities, degrees, and credentials, we have a vested responsibility to ensure our students have the skills to effectively engage in the civic life of their communities. In a post-pandemic environment, our students face many challenges and the work can be daunting. All the more reason I take great pride in working with Campus Compact to create a strong network among practitioners, a space for networking, sharing of best practices, and support for one another as we engage in this critical work.”
“We are thankful and excited that Deanna will be contributing her expertise to our Community Colleges Network,” said Campus Compact President Bobbie Laur. “Under her leadership, our community college members will find a space to collaborate, share learning, and find the tools and resources that they need.”
Deanna will be one of the inaugural cohort of Campus Compact fellows, a group of experienced practitioners and field leaders who will advance Campus Compact’s work in key areas.
