Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead organizational vision, strategy, and long-term growth planning
  • Identify opportunities to expand impact, partnerships, visibility, and sustainability
  • Translate mission and values into clear organizational priorities and measurable outcomes
  • Support innovation while maintaining alignment with organizational principles and culture
  • Advise and collaborate with the Advisory Board

Fundraising & Development:

  • Serve as the organization’s lead fundraiser and relationship-builder
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies that diversify and strengthen revenue streams
  • Support grant strategy, donor communications, and philanthropic storytelling

Communications & External Relations

  • Act as a compelling public ambassador for the organization’s mission and work by speaking, presenting, and contributing to overall visibility and thought leadership
  • Build relationships with civic leaders, nonprofit partners, media, academic institutions, and community organizations
  • Represent the organization in national conversations related to dialogue, democracy, bridgebuilding, and civic health

Programmatic & Movement Leadership:

  • Ensure programmatic excellence and mission alignment across all initiatives
  • Deepen the organization’s role within the broader bridgebuilding and civic engagement ecosystem
  • Support development of tools, training, and partnerships that increase public engagement and dialogue capacity
  • Foster inclusive, values-centered practices that model healthy conflict and relationship-building

Organizational & Team Leadership

  • Lead, support, and develop staff and organizational culture
  • Foster a collaborative, mission-driven, and emotionally intelligent work environment
  • Oversee organizational operations, budgeting, and resource allocation in partnership with staff and board leadership
  • Ensure strong systems, accountability, and organizational sustainability

Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a mission-driven organization
  • Proven success in fundraising, donor cultivation, grant development, and partnership-building
  • Strong strategic thinking and organizational leadership skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities  Experience serving as a public-facing spokesperson, facilitator, or coalition-builder
  • Deep understanding of dialogue, bridgebuilding, peacebuilding, civic engagement, social cohesion, or conflict transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate politically and ideologically diverse environments with credibility and care
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, and organizational operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with national bridgebuilding, democracy, or civic renewal networks Experience leading organizations through growth, transition, or strategic evolution
  • Background in facilitation, mediation, restorative practices, deliberative dialogue, or community engagement
  • Experience working across sectors including nonprofit, philanthropy, education, business, faith, or public service
  • Knowledge of digital engagement, community-building, or national network development
