As a student ambassador for the BOLD Civic Engagement program, he finds innovative ways to mentor, escort, and befriend international students who come to UNO via the program and helps provide opportunities for them to be civically engaged in Omaha and within the community
Personal Statement
I first got involved in politics in 2022, working on the Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana ballot initiative. I poured my soul into the campaign, working alongside families of suffering patients who needed access to this medicine. Even though we failed to get it on the November ballot, it only made me more motivated to work towards a better Nebraska. In 2023, I was privileged to receive an internship in the office of a Nebraska State Senator. It was inspiring; even in moments of despair, we were reminded of the quote from Aristotle inscribed into the building: 'Political society exists for the sake of noble living.' I’ve also completed a fellowship with Tony Vargas for Congress, canvassing to get him elected. People in Nebraska and elsewhere have little faith in the political process. I believe, however, in the possibility of a better government that represents the interests of the people. At 21 years old, I’ve had the privilege of working on 5 campaigns since 2022. From ballot initiatives to legislative races to congressional campaigns, I have consistently dedicated my time and energy to help elect good people in Nebraska and push for change.
