April Elston is driven by a fervent desire to make a meaningful impact on the broader community. As someone who believes in the power of leadership and service, she consistently seeks opportunities to lead, inspire, and uplift those around her. As the Founder of her non-profit organization: The Full Tummy Project, April works to meet the critical need for nutritional support among K-12 students during the summer months. Through The Full Tummies Project, she has been able to mobilize resources, coordinate volunteers, and ensure that no child goes hungry during the summer break. In all her endeavors, she strives to be a leader who is compassionate, driven, and impactful. She remains steadfast in her mission to lead with integrity, inspire others, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Personal Statement
I am driven by a fervent desire to make a meaningful impact in both my college and the broader community. As someone who believes in the power of leadership and service, I have consistently sought opportunities to lead, inspire, and uplift those around me. From the outset of my college journey, I have been deeply involved in various leadership roles. Serving as the Vice President of the Student Programming Council (SPC) has provided me with a platform to orchestrate events and initiatives that enhance student life and foster a sense of community. This role has honed my organizational, communication, and leadership skills, allowing me to effectively collaborate with diverse groups and drive positive change. My commitment to community service remains unwavering. I have actively participated in various volunteer initiatives, from organizing charity events to mentoring younger students. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of collective effort and the importance of giving back to the community. In all my endeavors, I strive to be a leader who is compassionate, driven, and impactful. I am committed to using my skills, experiences, and passions to create positive change, not only during my college years but also in the broader community.
