The Community Engagement Professional Credentialing program offers a flexible, research informed pathway for community engagement professionals to deepen expertise, strengthen practice, and earn formal recognition across core community engagement competencies.
Participants earn a microcredential for each course by demonstrating mastery through assessment. Completion of five microcredentials (more below) qualifies participants to pursue certification which recognizes completion and demonstrated knowledge across the core community engagement competencies.
Whether you're earning an individual microcredential to address a specific part of your work or working toward full certification, our courses are developed for individuals considering careers in the field, emerging professionals, and established faculty and staff who want to continue their education.
Microcredentials for specific subjects, stackable for full certification
Earn microcredentials
Receive a microcredential badge for successful completion of each competency course. Each course can be completed in about 15-20 hours, or 2-3 hours per module.
To earn a microcredential badge, applicants demonstrate competency through the completion of a comprehensive course, including a course assessment. Earn individual badges relevant to your work and/or combine them to become eligible for the full Community Engagement Professional Certification.
Earn full certification
Earn three essential and two elective microcredentials, then submit a capstone project to earn full certification. Click below to learn more about each microcredential and for more details about what goes into the capstone project.
