Campus Compact recently held a Campus Cogenerate visioning session with CoGenerate (formerly known as Encore). Campus Cogenerate is one of our Innovation and Design Initiatives focused on the power generated when older and younger people come together to solve social issues.

The visioning session focused on upcoming Campus Cogenerate initiatives including the Intergenerational Community Solutions Insitute which aims to reduce social isolation and improve health outcomes for all generations, and the Citizen Entrepreneur Explorers Program, which focuses on bringing together older business leaders and younger entrepreneurs. Other topics included a discussion of a university-community writing program that created an affordable housing initiative, and the importance of teaching young people about the power of film to capture the rich stories and history of older generations in North Carolina.

Speakers included Campus Compact and CoGenerate staff, as well as others from Eastern Michigan University, Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY, and the African American Male Initiative at North Carolina Central University.
