Campus Compact today announced that Alexandra Byrum, director of communications and community relations for the Equity & Community unit at the University of Richmond, will serve as the Campus Exhibitions Fellow for the 2023-2024 academic year.
In her fellowship, Alexandra will advance Campus Compact’s agenda to recognize and celebrate the diverse and impressive activities and accomplishments of our member campuses and their key stakeholders (e.g. students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners) through campus exhibitions. She will work to develop field knowledge and resources that will amplify intentional, reciprocal community partnerships, highlight innovative practice, promote ethical storytelling, and inspire others to get engaged in civic and community engagement. Alexandra will work alongside members of the Campus Compact staff, representatives from the National Museum and Center for Service, and the Campus Museums of Service Design Team to ensure that related activities and resources created are inclusive, equitable, impactful, and grounded in the needs of member campuses and their communities.
Alexandra will be one of the new and returning fellows who make up the 2023-2024 cohort of Campus Compact fellows, a group of experienced practitioners, scholars, and field leaders who will advance Campus Compact’s work in key areas, including community colleges, dialogue and deliberation, student-led engagement, rural serving institutions, anti-racist community engagement, federal policy, intercultural development, field-level research and recognition, and executive leadership.
