Campus Compact today announced that Gliset Colón, Assistant Professor for Exceptional Education, Buffalo State College, will serve as Campus Compact’s Student Engagement Fellow for the 2022-2023 academic year.
As the Student Engagement Fellow, Gliset will draw on her expertise to advance Campus Compact’s agenda to deepen civic and community student engagement. She will work alongside Campus Compact members and staff to begin building Campus Compact’s vision of a new network of student activists. In this capacity, Gliset will work to ensure that future network activities are inclusive, equitable, and grounded in the needs of members by creating a foundation for future sustainability and growth.
“Dr. Colón brings experience not just supporting student engagement but also examining the barriers that keep students from engaging,” said Natalie Furlett, Campus Compact director of partnerships and member engagement. “We are thrilled to have her on board to help Campus Compact design an inclusive agenda for student changemakers.”
Gliset will be one of the inaugural cohort of Campus Compact fellows, a group of experienced practitioners and field leaders who will advance Campus Compact’s work in key areas.
“We are so excited to welcome these experienced and passionate leaders into the Compact team,” said Campus Compact President Bobbie Laur. “Their appointments reflect our commitment to elevating and centering member expertise across everything we do. These fellows will play critical roles as Compact moves forward a robust agenda of programming, research, strategic partnerships, and learning communities.
