From the president
Lucia, a is currently a senior student in the "lnformation and Communication Sciences undergraduate program at the University of Monterrey", is actively involved in the "Formar Para Transformar" (Form to Transform) program, which is designed for students devoted to service and aims to develop social processes with a long-term vision for transforming their reality. She is the founder of "Onda Regia," a program that promotes cultural expression as a catalyst for change through teaching cumbia music and dance and art therapy to foster peace and strengthen community bonds. This project reinforces cultural identity in neighborhoods where cumbia serves as a tool for conflict resolution and peace promotion, while also developing essential skills such as communication and empathy.
Personal Statement
My vision is to continue contributing to social change from the roots, by promoting unity and pride in our cultural identity. Through cultural and community-based projects, I have worked to address real needs, empower individuals, and strengthen the bonds within our communities. I firmly believe that representing my community and UDEM in this recognition is an invaluable opportunity to amplify my life’s mission and continue supporting collective well-being.
