Personal Statement
As a member of the Kennesaw State AmeriCorps Service Fellowship Program, I have had the opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals committed to creating sustainable change within our community. Through my partnership with Circles Cobb, a nonprofit dedicated to building lasting relationships to eliminate poverty, I served as both the Data Operations Specialist and Resource Coordinator. In these roles, I witnessed firsthand the systemic challenges families face and helped implement relief programs, resource initiatives, and community-driven solutions designed to uplift families toward long-term success. This experience deepened my understanding of structural inequalities and strengthened my commitment to service-driven leadership.
Beyond Circles Cobb, I serve as the Community Service Director for Black Women Empowered at Kennesaw State University. In this role, I organize initiatives and outreach efforts that emphasize civic engagement, leadership, and collective empowerment among Black women. My approach to addressing social issues centers on building authentic relationships, expanding access to critical resources, and fostering sustainable, community-led change. I believe lasting progress requires collaboration, intentionality, and respect for the voices and needs of the communities we serve. Through my leadership, I strive to create partnerships and champion initiatives that address public problems with meaningful, lasting impact.
