Personal Statement

Growing up in the Tempe and Mesa area, I’ve always appreciated the many ways to find community and get involved. Through school, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with local businesses by inviting them to participate in events or helping promote MCC activities at their locations. One of my goals is to encourage students to become more civically engaged on campus and in the community. Beyond campus, I have been inspired to engage with the Indigenous community across the state. Being part of these spaces allows me to continuously learn, grow, and contribute, and I find so much joy in staying involved. I am passionate about student engagement, leadership, and creating an inclusive campus environment. My involvement as secretary for the Intertribal
Student Organization, senator for Educators Rising, and a Federal Work Study student at the Center for Community and Civic Engagement has given me valuable experience in leadership, organization, and advocacy. I want to use these skills to uplift student voices, strengthen communication between students and administration, and help ensure that all students feel supported and connected.
