The 2020 meeting of The Research University Civic Engagement Network (TRUCEN) was hosted by the Center for Service Learning at the University of Kansas (KU).

The conference (both meeting rooms and accommodations) were held at the Oread Hotel in Lawrence.  The Oread boasts 360 degree views as the highest point in Kansas.

KU is the state’s flagship located in Lawrence, Kansas. As an institution, KU’s legacy is bound to the ideals of freedom and justice. The Jayhawk, KU’s mascot, was born out of terminology used during the Civil War. Jayhawkers were those who fought for freedom and against slavery, and this sentiment has continued on through the adoption of a fictional Jayhawk as our mascot. The culture of democracy and justice runs deep through our research and community-engaged endeavors.
