International Service Learning Summit

January 29, 2015

Please join us for the third International Service-Learning Summit
March 4-6, 2015
Durham, North Carolina

Featured keynote speakers include: Mark Gearan, President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges and former director of the Peace Corps and Caryn McTighe Musil, Senior Scholar and Director of Civic Learning and Democracy at the Association of American Colleges and Universities.

The International Service-Learning Summit is a two-day meeting that engages participants in a purposeful dialogue about the field of global, immersive service. This year’s theme, “Global Community Partnerships” will be explored through a deliberate look at effective practice and community outcomes and perspectives.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from two theme-focused panels, analyze case studies and contribute to a growing community of practice. Small group discussions, facilitated dialogue, and consensus-building activities will enable participants to network, problem-solve and leave with new ideas.

Invited panelists and session leaders include: Christine Cress, Portland State University; Andrew Furco, University of Minnesota; Eric Hartman, Kansas State University; Richard Kiely, Cornell University; Eric Popkin, Colorado College; Amanda Moore McBride, Washington University; Nora Pillard Reynolds, Water for Wasala, and Elizabeth Tryon, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

We are also pleased to announce that over 30 community leaders will join us, representing both international and US-based partnerships.

Register today! Invite your community partner to join you.

The Summit is sponsored by DukeEngage at Duke University, Washington University, the Buffet Center at Northwestern University, and the Henry Luce Foundation and will be held at the Durham Convention Center.
