Communities of Practice provide a unique opportunity for Campus Compact members to join peers across the country to dig deeper into specific areas of engagement practice. Register for one of our upcoming communities of practice:

TRUCEN, The Research University Engagement Network, convenes R1 Compact members to share knowledge and strategize together.

The Rural Engagement Network will support peer learning and advocacy for community engagement on rural campuses.

The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports community-committed students at Compact member institutions.
- Join an info session about The Allstate Foundation Newman Impact Grants, which will offer funding for Newman Fellows to implement social-action civic engagement in their communities. Applications open 10/1.
- Coming soon: Nominations for the next cohort of Newman Civic Fellows will open in January
The Student Design Fellows Program puts students at the forefront of designing programming that engages and empowers student leaders. Encourage students on your campus to register for a student design focus group to contribute to student civic leadership efforts.

Facilitating professional development
Building the professional capacity of faculty, staff, and administrators connected to the work of community and civic engagement
Compact25, our 2025 annual conference (March 31-April 2, 2025 in Atlanta, GA) will bring together community-engaged students, faculty, staff, and senior leaders for learning and exchange.
- Submit a session proposal by 9/27 to present at the conference
- Register to attend. Early bird rates expire January 15.
- We are seeking institutions and organizations to sponsor our conference. Contribute to this field-level event and receive special benefits.
New! The Intercultural Development Learning Community will run from January to June and offers an opportunity for practitioners to explore their own cultural competence and build their abilities to bridge across difference. Join the learning community to engage in this new curriculum rooted in the tenets of cultural humility. Only 20 slots are available, so register soon.
New! Apply to join the Mid-Career Learning Community specifically crafted for mid-career community engagement professionals. Applications due 11/3.
Attend Coalition Conversations throughout the year for inspiration and learning about cultivating resources and fundraising for civic and community engagement.

We're working with partners and field leaders to link research to practice. Register for our upcoming virtual discussion with authors from the latest issue of the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning on September 26.
Campus Compact produces field-leading publications that support, engage, and challenge higher education to realize its public purpose to address complex social issues and further equity, justice, and prosperity for all.
- Submit a manuscript for consideration as a future Campus Compact publication. Manuscripts received by 12/31 will get priority review.
- Submit a proposal for a chapter for the upcoming publication, Navigating Campus-Community Relationships: How Colleges and Universities Engage with Demographic Change from Suchitra Gururaj and Brianna Johnson
- Coming fall 2025: Engaging to Survive: A Community-Centric Roadmap to Higher Education’s Future from Byron White

We are proud to support Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement as they host their third Centering Indigenous Knowledge series this fall. Register for the series to learn about Indigenous people's scholarship, academic work, and cultural contributions to higher education. Sessions begin 10/3.

Our federal policy agenda aims to raise awareness about the role of higher ed in critical issues facing communities, secure funding opportunities for civic and community engagement, and brief members on important federal issues.

College Renaissance Corps (CRCorps) is an AmeriCorps program that empowers community college students in high-demand fields to become leaders in the workplace and their communities. This year, the program will continue in Texas and Colorado and expand to Connecticut, North Carolina, and Illinois. Read about the impact of this program.

- A toolkit & regional gatherings focused on leveraging community service federal work-study
- The Higher Education Democracy Inventory project will offer a comprehensive approach for campuses to inventory their existing democratic engagement, civic learning, and democracy-building research and practices.
