Gabriella Gugliotta is a junior at Drake University and is studying Law, Politics, and Society. She is an actively engaged student leader committed to promoting social justice and meaningful service on campus. Throughout her time at Drake, Gabriella has been involved with various student organizations such as La Fuerza Latina, Drake Community Action Board, Habitat for Humanity, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. For the past two years, Gabriella has worked closely with the Community Engaged Learning Office through Drake's Community Action Board. She is devoted to increasing meaningful service on campus and educating students about systemic root causes which reproduce systems of inequality. She works to promote volunteer opportunities on Drake's campus, serves as a student liaison when meeting with community partners, and helps develop and promote educational sessions and social justice dialogues.
As a member of Drake's Community Action Board (CAB), I work to fully live out CAB's mission to engage students in meaningful service and collaborative initiatives that inspire them to strengthen relationships with the community of which they are a part. Throughout my time on the board, I've extensively focused on enhancing individual and group service experiences through education, direct service, and critical reflection in order to create sustainable relationships between students and non-profit organizations. I believe that focusing on relationship-building as well as addressing issues of oppression and root causes of socioeconomic inequality allows a greater impact to occur in our local community.
