College Positive Volunteerism was launched as a national initiative by Campus Compact in 2015. This timeline showcases the resources and opportunities Michigan Campus Compact implemented to develop the program prior to 2015.
History
- Research begins by Kim M. Davis Ph.D., a Future Faculty Fellow for Michigan Campus Compact, and the King-Chavez-Parks Initiative
- CPV Curriculum developed
- CPV Toolkit created (first version)
- First trainings conducted by Dr. Kim Davis
- Strategic Initiatives’ AmeriCorps*VISTA conducts trainings and develops materials
- MICC AmeriCorps*VISTA program (2009-2012) begins training members on college campuses
- College Access Challenge Grant awarded to MICC (by Michigan College Access Network) for Service for Access and College Positive Communities
- Service for Access Grants
- Access and Success AmeriCorps VISTA position formed (2 year)
