Rania Ezzo, a recent graduate of Boston University with majors in psychology and philosophy, has joined Campus Compact’s national office in Boston, Massachusetts as part of Massachusetts Campus Compact’s Americorps VISTA program.

MACC VISTA members work to build capacity for campus-community partnerships that improve educational outcomes for economically disadvantaged children and youth. Ezzo will support partnership development for Campus Compact’s 1,100 college and university members and their partner K-12 schools and youth-serving organizations.

Ezzo will focus on supporting partnership development to achieve college readiness, student learning, and student success through three initiatives: Connect 2 Complete, College Positive Volunteerism, and Campus Compact’s new initiative facilitating urban and regional partnerships for student civic learning and success.

“As supporters of national service, we are especially pleased to partner with Massachusetts Campus Compact to bring on an Americorps VISTA to advance our shared goal of improving educational opportunity,” said Campus Compact President Andrew J. Seligsohn, Ph. D.

Ezzo has prepared for this role through work experience in both academic and community-based settings. She brings a broad perspective to Campus Compact, having been born in the US, raised primarily in Kuwait, and educated at the college level back in the US—with study abroad experiences in Spain and Finland.

“I am so excited to be serving as a VISTA for Campus Compact this year,” said Ezzo. “I will start every day knowing that I am part of a team that contributes to greater student success, and there is nothing more fulfilling.”

You can learn more about Ezzo’s experiences—along with those of other Campus Compact VISTAs throughout the United States—on the Campus Compact Blog.
