Dr. Bill Coppola currently serves as President of Tarrant County College’s Southeast campus. His contributions to the community include service on the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Commission on Structured Pathways, Arlington Chamber of Commerce Board, City of Arlington Transportation Committee, Methodist Mansfield Hospital Community Advisory Board, Methodist Health System Audit Committee, Phi Theta Kappa National Advisory Board, Phi Theta Kappa Texas Presidential Liaison, Rotary Club of Arlington, Tarrant County Homeless Coalition, Continuum of Care Board of Directors, and Tarrant Transit Alliance, Founding Council Member. Prior to this appointment he was the Executive Director of Academic Partnerships and Initiatives at Lone Star College-Kingwood where he also served as the Vice President of Instruction and Chief Academic Officer of Lone Star College–Kingwood, a position he held since 2006.  He also held Dean positions for two academic divisions: Math/Science and Healthcare/Computer Information Technology.  During his tenure at the Lone Star College System, Dr. Coppola was instrumental in the planning and construction of a variety of college facilities, including LSC-Kingwood’s Health and Science, Student Services and Music buildings, in addition to an off campus satellite facility.

Dr. Coppola’s career in education began in the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD), where he served for 15 years.  He spent 12 years on the faculty of North Lake College.  His faculty service was followed by various administrative positions, culminating in his work as Dean of Technical Education.   After leaving DCCCD, Dr. Coppola served as Senior Associate Dean of Instruction in the Maricopa Community College District at Phoenix College.  While at Phoenix College, he was also Director of the City Colleges Center, a facility serving a mostly Hispanic population.

Dr. Coppola is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including Certificate of Excellence and Honorary Member –Phi Theta Kappa Beta Delta Omicron Chapter; Certificate of Appreciation – Phi Theta Kappa Texas Region; Honorary Member – Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society of the Two Year College, Alpha Lambda Xi Chapter-Lone Star College-Kingwood; Legacy Partner in Education Champion Award – U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC)-Southwest; Education Partner Award –Tarrant County Asian American Chamber of Commerce (TCAACC); Community Engaged for Excellence Community Partner of the Year – AISD; Jesse Jones Leadership Award – North Texas Community College Consortium (NTCCC), and most recently named a Paul Harris Fellow-The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International

Dr. Coppola received his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and M.Ed. degree from the University of North Texas, and his B.A. in Telecommunications from Michigan State University.
