On November 11-12 at UNC Asheville, North Carolina Campus Compact will host its annual CSNAP Student Conference, an event where student leaders can explore citizenship, service, networking, and partnerships. The main event on Saturday (11/12, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) will feature workshops by college student leaders and a showcase of social change organizations who work with students, including the Campus Kitchens Project, the Rachel Carson Council, and S.C.A.L.E. The optional Friday evening session (11/11, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) features Jonathan Santos, an Asheville-based Soul-Songwriter, Poet, Cultural Community worker and Educator. He will perform and help students create their own Personal Poetic Mission Statement. Call for Workshop Proposals Conference Registration Form - registration ends Oct. 17 $75 per person – Campus Compact member schools / $95 per person - non-member schools (includes Friday night and Saturday conference).

Sponsored by the Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI) Center for Service and Learning (CSL), the Research Academy is an intense, interactive 2 ½ day workshop designed to develop research skills, learn about methods and service learning literature, and develop a research project related to service learning and community engagement. Held annually since 2009, the Research Academy convenes each year in May as part of the week-long conference Connecting Campuses with Communities, which also includes a Service Learning Institute (SLI) sponsored by Indiana Campus Compact. Providing a mix of high quality information and mentoring, the Research Academy is a professional development opportunity that supports research and scholarship focused on service learning and community engagement. The design invites participants to develop collaborations with fellow practitioners and researchers to enhance their work and contribute to a collective understanding of the field.
