The CUMU Annual Conference is the largest nationwide meeting of leaders from urban and metropolitan universities and colleges. We are a diverse community filled with people who are doing great things and who want to help others achieve great things. An Exchange of Ideas Never in our history, has the need to be deeply engaged and committed to developing and sustaining impactful partnerships been more important. This year's theme, Charting the Future of Metropolitan Universities, is designed to generate dialogue that examines the biggest challenges and opportunities facing our institutions and cities. A robust exchange of ideas will help us examine how we can transform our institutions to meet the needs of our community and students. What Keeps You Up at Night? The format of the CUMU Annual Conference has been refined to encourage a greater exchange of ideas. Presentations will be categorized by approach rather than participant tracks. CSNAP Student Conference

On November 11-12 at UNC Asheville, North Carolina Campus Compact will host its annual CSNAP Student Conference, an event where student leaders can explore citizenship, service, networking, and partnerships. The main event on Saturday (11/12, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) will feature workshops by college student leaders and a showcase of social change organizations who work with students, including the Campus Kitchens Project, the Rachel Carson Council, and S.C.A.L.E. The optional Friday evening session (11/11, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) features Jonathan Santos, an Asheville-based Soul-Songwriter, Poet, Cultural Community worker and Educator. He will perform and help students create their own Personal Poetic Mission Statement. Call for Workshop Proposals Conference Registration Form - registration ends Oct. 17 $75 per person – Campus Compact member schools / $95 per person - non-member schools (includes Friday night and Saturday conference).

2016 Newman Civic Fellows Convening

In partnership with the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, Campus Compact will be hosting an inaugural national convening of 2016 Newman Civic Fellows in Boston on November 18-19, 2016. This event will be an opportunity for Newman Civic Fellows from across the country to connect and to participate in shared civic learning. The convening will be hosted at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and will run from 6 PM on Friday, November 18 until 5 PM on Saturday, November 19.  There is no cost for participation in the convening; food will be provided during the convening and lodging for Friday, November 18 will be provided. All 2016 Newman Civic Fellows should have received an invitation to the convening via email.
